Thillana
Ragam: Mohanam
Thalam: Aadi
Thillana is a brisk and lively number performed at the end of a Bharatanatyam concert. It is predominantly a rhythmic composition containing jatis as a part of the composition and a few lines of sahityam or prose in the charanam. These are followed by Muktams which are patterns of swarams. Most Thillanas are dedicated to the presiding deity or Ishta devata of the composer.
This Thillana is in praise of Goddess Kamalamba. This piece was composed by Srimathi Visalam, who is a close acquaintance of Sangeetha, especially for this program.
